Fishing Cass Lake

New Leech Lake Campground is just 19 miles from Cass Lake. Cass Lake is the largest of the eight lakes that make up the Cass Lake Chain of Lakes and the eighth largest lake in Minnesota. The scenery on the 15,596-acre lake with 26.9 miles of forested shoreline and sandy beaches is incredible. Cass Lake offers fine populations of Walleye, Northern Pike, and Perch. Cass Lake is second only to Leech Lake in the number of Muskies caught. Many of these muskies top the 40-pound mark.

The Mississippi River flows through the eight lakes in the Cass Lake Chain of Lakes, located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest and can be travelled by boat. The lakes include Big Wolf Lake, Lake Andrusia, Cass Lake, Pike Bay, Buck Lake, Kitchi Lake, Little Rice Lake, and Big Rice Lake.
